Recording Studio

A fun side project, I designed and built this recording studio for my brother, a professional narrator and voice actor. Here’s an article for The New Yorker, which was the first of many readings done in this studio. Through this project, I learned a lot about the science of sound and insulation. All points of contact with the outside structure are isolated from vibration. The walls are lined with acoustically transparent canvas, which safely covers the fiber glass insulation without impeding its function or creating another reverberating surface. More of the process can be seen on my instagram .
