Many fond memories were made on Gunter Street in Austin, Texas. In the living room of close friends, the gang hung out almost every night of the week. It’s where we shared dinners and conversation, where we listened to music and watched the screen. In those moments, I was sitting in either an Eames LCW in walnut or Saarinen’s Womb Chair in bright red. I wanted to make a sitting chair for these kinds of moments—at ease, but not too loungy; attentive, but not too upright. My chair would be a short-duration chair, good for a chapter or an article, then stand up and stretch, get a refill and return.
